Katrina Kernodle (Vocals)
Katrina grew up with her dad's varied music tastes such as John Prine, Dr. Hook and Willie Nelson while her mom practiced violin and preferred Handel to Hank. Accustomed to performing from a young age, her interest in country and bluegrass grew while at the University of Virginia. She sang briefly with the NoVA alternative rock band, Poets in Heat, and a few other local artists before finding kindred spirits in the musical talent of the CFHM boys (who she attributes to having introduced her to a new love for alt-country).
Gregg Corr (Guitar, Dobro, Mandolin, Harp, Vocals)
Gregg has been singing and playing guitar since he was knee high to a grasshopper. Most recently he performed with Juliet at the Rodeo, a DC-based alternative country group. In Catfish Honeymoon, Gregg is featured on vocals and plays acoustic and electric guitars. He's a novice pedal steel guitar player and is hoping to work that into the act soon. His influences are many and include Steve Earle, Buddy Miller, Uncle Tupelo (and offspring), Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Hank Williams.
Mark Owens (Guitar, Vocals)
Mark has been playing in bands for the past 20 years. He played punk/new wave music with The Skanks in the 80's and for the past 15 years has performed with a classic rock band, The Rocknods. His musical influences include The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, The Ramones, Hee Haw, Robert Earl Keen, Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle.
Jeff Kurtz (Drums, Percussion)
Jeff joins Catfish after a 4-year stint playing drums for Heart of Blue in various joints around DC, Maryland and Virginia. Prior to that, he played with a country band for a few years, and prior to that, well he can't remember that far back. A fan of all styles of music, his favorite artists include many of the great talents who have come out of the DC area: Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun, Rosslyn Mountain Boys, Danny Gatton, Emmylou Harris, Eva Cassidy, and Slickee Boys. Other favorites are The Blasters, John Hiatt, NRBQ, Bob Dylan, and John Prine. He's a big fan of vintage drums, and plays a 1964 Rogers white marine pearl kit.
